Expungement of Criminal Records
When a person requests that his criminal record be expunged, he is formally asking that a particular offense for which he or she was arrested be taken off their criminal record. Expungements are granted in very limited situations; these include:
-
If there is evidence that the person’s criminal record is inaccurate or incomplete.
OR
- If the person was released from jail without the offense ever being referred to a prosecutor.
OR
- If the charges were dismissed without the person ever being prosecuted.
Because each court system may have different procedures for requesting an expungement, contact Plichta & Associates, P.C. to assist you. If you are entitled to an expungement of your criminal record, we will work with you to secure the peace of mind you deserve.
